湖北省造光绪元宝1898年发行，成色为91％。正面铸有铭文，顶部铸楷体“湖北省造”，底部铸“当十”标识，中心直读“光绪元宝”四字，币中心还有八瓣花。铜币背面外圈顶部余部用小号英文标准字体铭“大清帝国铜币”字样，内圈铸有正面腾云五爪龙一只，品相精致，其审美风格独持，钱币正面鲜然可见满汉文化的融合，而钱背却明确标示了西方文化的介入。

Hubei Guangxu Yuanbao was issued in 1898 with a fineness of 91%. On the front is an inscription, on the top is a regular script "made in Hubei province", on the bottom is a "dang Shi" logo, the center reads "Guangxu Yuanbao" directly, and the coin center has eight petals of flowers. At the top of the outer ring on the back of the copper coin, the words "copper coin of the Qing empire" are inscribed in small English standard font. the inner ring is cast with a tengyun five-claw dragon on the front, which is exquisite in appearance and unique in aesthetic style. the fusion of Manchu and Chinese culture is rarely seen on the front of the coin, while the back of the coin clearly indicates the intervention of western culture.
